The household savings rate in the euro zone increased by 0.3 percentage points to 12.9% in the first quarter of this year compared to 12.6% who had risen in the same period last year, according to Eurostat data released today in what regards the comparison with the previous quarter. – between October and December 2015 – the savings rate remained unchanged <. / p> According to the EU statistics office, also the investment rate of households increased in the annual comparison, 8.4% between January and March 2015 to 8.5% in the first quarter of 2016.
