The e-mails continue to arrive, at the beginning of each month. The first one was received four years ago, shortly after Maria had died.
The Tax Authority (AT) warned that there were debts to be paid and threatened with liens. The family, who lives in Lisbon, was surprised: the old lady was a widow several years ago, it was not indebt themselves and never worked outside the home.
The notification was sent to the e-mail from the grandson. Was Bernardino de Almeida who used to do the IRS of the grandmother and assigned its address to the “profile” of Mary Joseph at the portal of the Tax Authority. “The query to the computer system of the OT was detected the existence of debts relatively small, resulting from the non-payment of such sums, within the legal deadline”, begin by saying the e-mail, signed by “head of Finance”.
