Four changes in the driving licence from January News Journal

The drivers will stop, as of next week, of having to change the driving licence when they change house. It is one of four changes announced this Thursday.

The project “charter on wheels” is integrated in the Simplex programme, presented by the Institute for Mobility and Transport (IMT) on the afternoon of Thursday. One of the changes to the rules on the issuance of bonds, driving is the removal of the address from the driving licence, going on to appear only on the basis of data from the IMT. Today, the address stated in the licence.

Another change is the possibility to renew or replace your driving licence over the internet. Who is a counter of the IMT paid 30 euros; one who does so over the internet, you’ll pay 27 euros, a discount of 10%.

The third major change to the rules has to do with the deadlines. Who has up to 60 years of age, you only need to re-validate the letter of 15 in 15 years, and not ten, as now. The deadlines remain the same for those who have more than 60 years of age.

All these measures will come into force next week. In April, it will be the turn of the medical certificates, which shall be transmitted electronically by the Ministry of Health to the IMT. Thus, the evaluation is made by a physician for the driver and any restrictions that may impose will be automatically registered.

wind up the situations as reported by JN, in that the driving schools found medical certificates blank for customers to complete, without any time they were seen by a clinician. The certificate shall only be required for revalidation from the age of 60.
