Sitava: Workers mark the plenary for January to evaluate the commitments – Jornal de Negócios – Portugal

The strikes of the workers of the handling (ground handling) and safety and security at airports, which began already on Tuesday and lasting until Friday, were today desconvocadas, told Lusa source of Sitava.

Later, at a press conference, in Lisbon, the coordinator of the Sitava, Fernando Henriques, said that both the workers handling such as those of security “understood that were the conditions to which these strikes were desconvocadas,” but added that “it will be marked plenary session to the end of the month of January” to “assess at what point that will be each of the situations.”

“we Were with the spirit of the proposal, and the resolution of the problems. (…) But, of course, we will be vigilant that these commitments become a reality,” said Fernando Henriques.

In question is the creation of working conditions, having the trade unionist said that there is the Government’s commitment of “until the end of January to be solved the problems of changing rooms, rest rooms and parking lots for cars in the zones in which there are no public transport services”.

in addition, they were also set to resume talks “with a view to the negotiation of the collective labour agreement with the mediation of both the Ministry of Labour as the relevant ministry, in this case, the Planning”.

Underlining that, in the case of the assistance on earth, “the commitments are much more in the hand of the Government than other strikes”, because that is in the process for the State to recover the majority of the capital of TAP, Fernando Henriques explained that “the commitment of the Government for the handling is that, as early as the Government get back in control shareholder of the firm, the contract with the Groundforce will be renewed”.

“This is a guarantee fund that provides workers with prospects of continuity”, argued the union leader, adding that there is still “to guarantee that the process of assignment of licenses of contests that is going on will be done in a transparent way”.

in relation to the Portway, “a company with numerous illegalities” and that “there is a persecution of the members of the Sitava and to workers not unionized”, Fernando Henriques said that “it was the commitment to carry out an immediate inspection/audit by the Authority for Labour Conditions”.

The unionist also gave account of the other two commitments that were assumed: on the one hand, the publication of “on the 29th of December”, of the collective labour agreement of the sector, the recently signed with the employers ‘ association of the services of handling and, on the other, the publication “during the month of January,” the ordinance of extension in which they will be regulated the working conditions.

These were the commitments made, according to Fernando Henriques, on Friday, in a long marathon negotiating session between the Sitava and the Government, relative to the claims of the workers in the handling and security on the airports.

The workers of the companies handling Groundforce and Portway challenge the licensing, claiming to be illegal, the Groundlink and Ryanair, and the employees of security companies – Prosegur and Securitas – they claim a new Collective Agreement with the Association of Security Companies.

The strike by employees of Prosegur and Securitas was convened for 27, 28 and 29 December, and the workers of Groundforce and Portway for 28, 29 and 30 December.
