The Government also did a review of some macroeconomic forecasts. The Executive Pedro Passos Coelho estimates that the economy will grow 1.6 percent this year, one tenth more than the forecast entered in the State Budget. In 2016, the economy is expected to grow two percent. In subsequent years, the Government expects that Portugal grow 2.4 percent.
Unemployment is expected to remain above 11 percent at least until 2019. Pedro Passos Coelho team provides that the rate falls this year on 13.2 percent, as provided by the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission. The government predicts that unemployment remains above 11% at least until 2019.
About the reduction of the fee that companies pay social security finance minister says that there is no concrete proposal. However, Maria Luís Albuquerque stresses that considers that this is a positive idea.
