The Bank of Portugal decided that the three interested in buying the New Bank that are selected for this purpose can improve their respective proposals binding until 07 August, revealed today in a statement the bank supervisor.
“Following the invitation to the three potential buyers who submitted a binding offer on the 30th of last June to submit a binding revised proposal, the board of directors of the Bank of Portugal decided today to set the date of August 7 for presenting this proposal, “reads the document entity led by Carlos Costa.
The Bank of Portugal pointed out that this possibility was already provided for in the terms of reference for the third phase of the process alienation of the New Bank, which provided that potential buyers are “invited to submit proposals binding at one or more successive rounds, there may be room for negotiation and the exclusion of potential buyers.”
