Santander Totta today announced that increased earnings by 29.2% to 103.6 million euros in the first half, compared to the same period last year.
The president of the bank, António Vieira Monteiro, said at a press conference in Lisbon that these profits are “results only made in Portugal without selling debt or operations abroad,” the should be compared with the other banks operating in Portugal accordingly.
In terms of features to customers, these increased by 6% year on year, reflecting increases of 9.1% in deposits and 25.6% in traded fund, said the financial institution.
The bank also notes an increase of 97% in mortgage loan production in the period from January to June this year compared to the same period in 2014, “continuing to reduce the pace of decline in portfolio.”
Net interest income increased 5.8%, rising from 267.9 million euros in the first half of last year to 283.4 million this year.
