Airbnb continues to suffer some pressures in some countries, being obliged to review some of the strategies. This Thursday, December 1, the platform has announced that it will spend to have new rules for the houses listed on the platform in London and Amsterdam.
Now, in case the owners of the property wanted to lease the house for more than 90 days per year (in the case of London) and 60 days per year (Amsterdam) will need to have a license.
“we Want to be good partners to all of [Amsterdam] and to ensure that the home sharing to grow responsibly and sustainably,” said James McClure, general manager of Airbnb for the north of Europe was quoted by Bloomberg.
In Amsterdam the company will also move forward with a new tool for the neighbors of the homes listed on the platform in order to share issues relating to the rental, such as noise.
About London, James Murray, responsible for one of the associations for the residential development, said that “Airbnb has been in talks with authorities in London to understand their concerns about the application of existing legislation. And this recent movement given by Airbnb is a very positive step and sensitive in this way.”
