Fuel back down but not enough to annul increase … – RTP

According to data from the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG) related to 2,685 filling stations, the average price of diesel on Thursday was 1,149 euros per liter, while the average price of gasoline was fixed in 1,319 euros per liter.

The average values practiced this week in the national petrol stations are also well above the average price of the last week of the year – 1,104 euros and 1,287 euros in diesel gasoline – before the worsening of road service contribution (CSR) , the carbon tax, contemplated in the reform of Green Taxation, and even the incorporation of biofuels (by the Decree-Law 117/2010).

This further reduction accompanying the evolution of the prices of oil products in international markets, the second in 2015, not enough to offset the increases recorded since the beginning of the year.

In Europe, 28 in the table of higher prices, Portugal ranked 17th position in diesel and gasoline in the 10th position, while continuing to take more expensive fuel than Spain – in the 22nd and 20th, respectively.

A global oversupply of oil associated with a contraction in demand is the main cause of the sustained drop in prices for minimum of more than five years, which has since been accelerated by the decision of the Ministers of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) not reduce the level of joint production, adopted on 27 November in Vienna.

The Brent barrel of oil for February delivery opened for high today, the quote to $ 51.09 on the Intercontinental Exchange Futures (ICE) in London, more than 0.25% at the close of the previous session.
