Strike “almost complete” after the first round at Renault Cacia – LUSA

The strike at the Renault plant Cacia notes in the first round, which started at 06:00, superior adhesion to 90%, according to data advanced by the Workers Committee.

“We are dealing with that which is the biggest strike ever in the company. Given the labor-direct labor workers, membership is almost complete. From effective framework we have a membership of over 95% and we have concentrated at the door of over 200 factory workers and only went five, “he told Lusa Hugo Oliveira, the Workers Committee.

The strike was called for a period of 24 hours, to cover all shifts for higher wages and against precarious work contracts.

With 1016 employees, the factory Renault Cacia, in Aveiro, recorded in 2014 an increase of 35% turnover, being rated between the best of the Renault Group, and workers want to see the results reflected in wages.

The works council notes that the Renault group “achieved all its objectives in 2014, on which the Cacia Mill is part without the recognition of the effort and dedication” of its workers .

Since “most workers had no right to a decent wage increase, despite all the required sacrifice,” and thwarted the attempts negotiating with management, workers decided to move to strike, which is also a protest against “the abuse of loose links with the company.”

The Renault plant Cacia produces gearboxes and engine components for several models of Renault and the entire production for export.
