The stations of the Lisbon Metro are closed today due to a 24-hour strike that the workers are complying against sub and restructuring of the company.
The movement of trains of the Lisbon Metro has been suspended on Thursday at 23:20, and is expected to be resumed at 6:30 Saturday.
The strike, eighth held this year, plans to protest the sub company, as assigned by the Government to the Spanish company Avanza, and against the planned layoff of workers.
The tribunal of the Economic and Social Council (CES) did not decree minimum services for trains to run.
However, the judgment forced the workers to ensure the services necessary for the safety and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
The court justified the decision with the fact that there Lisbon transport alternative to the Metropolitan and there is no coincidence of other strikes in transport in the same geographic area.
The bus Carris announced the strengthening of some of the bus routes between 06 : 30 and 21:00 today, namely the 726 (Breakers – Pontinha Center), a 736 (Cais do Sodre – Maynooth, Dr. Lima Pimentel District), 744 (Marquis of Pombal – Moscavide, Quinta das Laranjeiras ) and 746 (Marquis of Pombal. – Damaia Station)
