Cavaco returns diploma supplements of Public Service – Economic

The President returned to the Government the act providing a review of wage supplements of public administration, found the Economic.

The bill came to the presidency in early October and was so far being enjoyed by Cavaco Silva, without there having been a decision to veto or promulgation. According to official sources the Presidency contacts between Cavaco Silva and the Government on a guiding diploma single table supplements the Civil Service “remain”, having the diploma now been “returned the request of the Government.”

The government will now have to decide whether to amend the law or presents a new document for consideration by the Presidency.

The ordinance proposal now returned to the Executive is the first step towards the creation of the new single-table workers supplements of public administration, the Government intends to implement in 2015, along with the review of salary scale, which are all state careers.

The law establishes that the majority of supplements in the public sector is replaced by a fixed amount in euro (and not a percentage of salary) and provides that some may be terminated or integrated in base pay.

According to official data, supplements cost per year around € 700 million to the state, but the government ensures that the review is not intended to reduced spending.
