Benfica Sporting win on penalties and is champion – Benfica were crowned today national futsal champion after defeating Sporting on penalties in the 4th game of the play-off final.
In regulation time the match ended tied 2-2, with the goals of lions to be pointed out, both in the first part, by Diogo and Caio Japa. For the Eagles, equality came in the second half with goals from Alessandro Xande and Patias.
Goalless after extra time period, and a final to Hitchcock, Benfica took the best in the big stuffed penalties of confusion in the pavilion of Maynooth.
Twice, the players of Benfica had to repeat the penalty (referee claimed that the Sporting goalkeeper was early on both occasions). Jefferson was a hero when he converted the decisive penalty!
The Eagles win the Championship for the 7th time.
