The average net salary received by the Portuguese workers increased by 36 euros from the time the troika of Portugal, wrote this morning the Daily News and the News Journal. The average yield was set at 838 euros per month in the second quarter of this year, the highest ever, and compares with the 802 euros that were recorded at the end of the first quarter of 2014, near the end of the rescue program for Portugal ( which ended on 17 May this year).
According to the two publications, the rise in average earnings is explained by two reasons. On the one hand, the minimum wage has been updated twice since the troika left the country. First, in October 2014, from 485 to 505 euros, by the previous government, covering 500,000 workers. And more recently, in December last year to 530 euros (benefiting 650,000 workers).
