Bank of Portuqal announced this Monday that it decided to extend, for three months, the contract for the provision of services of the economist Sérgio Monteiro, concluded to conduct the sale of the New Bank.
In a statement placed on its website, the central bank said that “this decision is also foreseen the possibility of renewals additional monthly up to a maximum of three more months.”
The contract, published on the portal of public procurement, for the provision of “consulting services” was signed on 18 December 2015, but with effect from 1 November 2015, for a period of 12 months and the financial contribution of 304.800 euros.
“The extension of the contract for the provision of services is essential to ensure the continuity in the direction of the operational team, which, in the Bank of Portugal, co-ordinates the sales process, which is a crucial phase”, explained the institution.
