Rail passes for the Camera in Lisbon in February – the Journal News

the Ministry of The Environment reported, Friday, that the Rail passes into the possession of the city of Lisbon from a February 2017. The president of the Republic has already promulgated the law.

“the President of The Republic promulgated the decree that assigns to the municipality of Lisbon, the assumption of full duties, and legal powers with regard to public service transport to the collective surface of passengers in the city of Lisbon”, it reads in the note.

The indication of the Ministry of the Environment arises in the context of appointments made, this Friday, for the new administrations of the transport companies Metropolitano de Lisboa, Carris, Transtejo and Soflusa, which are independent from Sunday.

On the first day of 2017, the companies will have already administrations distinct, “with the indication of the names for the Rails been properly articulated with the Municipal Chamber of Lisbon, which will deter the company from 1st February, under the terms of a diploma approved by the Council of Ministers of 22nd of December,” said a statement from the Ministry of Environment.

After the Government PSD/CDS-PP have decided to join in the only the various transport companies of Lisbon, the current socialist Government came back to separate them and assign them devolved administrations.

“This Government intends to boost the supply of public transport, by integrating a system of mobility planned, with a view to the decarbonisation of deep economy. To accomplish this goal, companies will have to see it enhanced its management capacity. The curricula of the new teams were considered adequate for the functions to be performed by the Commission of Recruitment and Selection for Public Administration”, indicates the Ministry of transport.

So, the president of the Lisbon Metro will be Vítor Manuel Domingues dos Santos, a civil engineer, whose professional career was developed primarily in the management of infrastructures and road transport.

James Farias, who was previously the president of the Lisbon Transport (which included the Metro, Carris, Transtejo and Soflusa), has now been appointed to chairman of the Rail.

In Transtejo and Soflusa, the president will be Marina Lopes Ferreira, the lawyer, who, among other roles, was previously the chairman of the Board of Directors of Administração do Porto de Lisboa and president of the HONEY.
