Real wages in Germany returned to growth in the second quarter – Business Journal – Portugal

A full-time worker earned in Germany in the second quarter of the year, excluding extraordinary payments, an average of 3,518 euros gross per month.

The real wages in Germany rose 1.2% year on year between April and June, after rising 1.3% in the first quarter of the year. On average, in 2013, had fallen 0.1%.

According to data released on Tuesday, September 23, the German Federal Agency for Statistics (Destatis) in nominal terms (ie without discounting inflation rose from 1.2% to 1.1% between the two quarters), the rise in wages was 2.3% in the second quarter, after 2.6% in the first. The highest average wages in the second quarter 2014 corresponded with 4,659 euros per month, to full-time employees in the banking and insurance as well as information and communication, with 4,662 euros.

In contrast, lower wages corresponded to the hospitality sector, with 2,109 euro gross per month.
