President of the Republic considers that there are risks of aumentra tax injustice if taxes go down only to some sectors of the economy
The most Portuguese taxpayer is subject to a high tax burden, by which the President believes that cutting taxes only for some sectors of the economy would increase the “tax and creating inefficiencies injustice.”
“High taxation is a national evil is not an evil in a particular sector. Would be wrong if we looked at in isolation (…) because if we did without a global view of the entire system, this would lead to an increase in tax injustices and creating inefficiencies “said Cavaco Silva this Saturday in Albufeira, during a speech at the closing of the Portugal Golf Cup Outreach event.
The head of state responded to the call of the operators Golf claiming a reduction in taxes in an area that, according to Cavaco Silva, is one of the sectors that has contributed to boosting the economy through tourism.
“Tourism is one of the strongest component of the recovery economy of our country and golf has been giving its contribution, presenting Portugal due to its highly competitive conditions to attract golfers from multiple parts of the world, “he said.
For the President, national tourism through “a good time, checking for significant increases in external demand.”
It is recalled that the catering industry and tourism have also claimed one desagavamento VAT, in particular through the return to intermediate rate of 13%. Currently catering services are subject to a rate of 23%, while VAT on tourism associated with the housing to be 6%.
