Bad debt in families ever to hit record – Daily IOL

The doubtful loans – best known for bad debt – rose again in July, reaching a new record. Now represents 4.23% of all loans made to families in Portugal.

The latest data from the Bank of Portugal, published on Tuesday, shows that the bad debt recorded in total credit granted to individuals rose 0.13 percentage points compared to June (4.15%).

Although it has also gone up, the bad debt in housing continues to be the lowest in compared with doubtful loans relating to consumption and loans for other purposes.
