The Government announced this Thursday, at the end of the Council of Ministers, restructuring tables of salary supplements paid to the Civil Service.

There are supplements permanent, there are other transitory. There is some basis and others who no longer have a basis. There are over a hundred categories of supplements that will be reduced in a single table.

The Minister of the Presidency and Parliamentary Affairs, Luis Marques Guedes, ensures that the objective of this diploma is to streamline and make the process transparent award supplements. The goal, he said, “is not to generate savings with this diploma ‘but the Executive recognizes that supplements currently paid to civil service are considerable and have an impact of approximately EUR 700 million in the state budget.

Marques Guedes no guarantees that all public officials to keep intact the remuneration but remember that there may be supplements that stopped “making sense”.

“It is a guarantee that can not give at all. In the limit can be either supplement whose foundation is understood that no longer makes sense, and as such, should be abolished, “said the Minister of the Presidency, stressing, however, that are” residual “cases.
