SAO PAULO (Reuters) – Hi group has the role of “role” in the consolidation of the telecommunications industry in Brazil and maintains goal to go to the Novo Mercado, the segment with the highest standards of corporate governance of BM & amp; FBovespa until the first quarter of 2015, said interim chief executive company, Bayard Gontijo, on Thursday.
In the day when the Hi shares tumbled more than 10 percent, Gontijo said the merger with Portugal Telecom will not be undone and that the Portuguese group is an integral part of Hi, but its assets can be sold.
The executive did not elaborate whether the leading role Hi in the consolidation of the Brazilian market will be purchasing or acquisition target. He reiterated that the company wants to sell Africatel and firm value recorded in the balance sheets Hi is 4 billion dollars.
