The Attorney General’s Office is investigating the TAP since last year, after an anonymous tip.
According to reports the newspaper Público, the Judicial Police is collecting testimonials from people linked to the Portuguese airline and had information on several processes: a failed attempt at privatization in 2012, the management and the purchase of Groundforce to Varig unit maintenance in Brazil.
The investigations have been motivated by suspicion of influence peddling and corruption, according to the Economic Daily.
The same publication reveals that in recent months new facts were discovered, which led the PGR to extend the process.
