Novabase surpassed for the 1st time 100 million euros in turnover outside of Portugal in 2015 – RTP


 “We invoice 106 million euros out of Portugal in 2015,” he told Lusa the president of Novabase, Luis Salvado, after the technology have shown a profit of EUR 7.4 million last year, over 139% compared to 2014, and an increase of 5% of turnover, to 231.6 million euros, “due to the remarkable 22% of the international business growth.”
 

 Business outside Portugal is already 46% of the total, and only the operations in Europe increased 44%, representing more than half of non-domestic activity, throughout the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Poland, Turkey, Spain, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, among others.
 

 Luis Salvado highlights the “very strong commitment” in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Turkey, where the company has several ongoing projects.
 

 In the UK, Novabase opened even by CelFocus company, an office in the last quarter of 2015 that will allow you to extend your business in Europe.
 

 Luis Salvado added that Novabase has achieved “great success” in the United States, “with an offer to one of the largest banks in the world” and another contract with one of the largest food companies in the world, through a partnership with a Dutch company .
 

 “We are signing a one-year investment contract with the bank, a result of our participation in international fairs and business processes,” he said, without adding further details, revealing only have “more expressions of interest from the US market.”
 

 “This shows that we are competitive outside Portugal, in different continents and sophisticated markets,” he stressed.
 

 Novabase also has operations in Angola and Mozambique and business in Algeria, Ghana, South Africa and Kenya, and has international operations in the Middle East.
 

 The path of internationalization will hold this year its trajectory, but adapted to the specific context of the various markets in which it operates and the risks of the current global macroeconomic situation.
 

 “We will accelerate in more stable markets and be more cautious in the most volatile markets,” said Luis Salvado, referring to the latter to the case in Angola and Mozambique, for example, to which the technology is intended to limit its exposure, taking into account currency risks and volatility.
 

 With these settings, Novabase want to achieve this year a turnover above 215 million euros, of which more than 45% in international operations, and an EBITDA (gross profits) between EUR 14 million and EUR 17 million .
 

 Was back in 2015, a year that Luis Salvado defined as “one more step, a historic number of years, where you see the progression in terms of internationalization and services.”
