Elsa Roncon Santos leaves the position of director-general of Treasury and Finance – the Observer

The director-general of Treasury and Finance, Elsa Roncon Santos, will leave the post and is replaced internally from Monday, until it is selected another person, a process that the Government intends to undertake "as soon as possible".

In a statement, the Ministry of Finance states that the director-general of Treasury and Finance (DGTF), Elsa Roncon Santos, "shall cease all functions, at your request, from the 13th of February 2017" and that is going to perform "as soon as possible the process of selection and appointment of the new Director-General of Treasury and Finance".

however, until this process is completed, the place will be taken, "substituting", by the current director-general, Maria João Araújo.

The Finance stress that the team led by Elsa Roncon Santos, who began work in 2011, "led the destinies of the DGTF in a period particularly demanding for the public administration, in particular for the services of the Ministry of Finance".

Cited in the note, the assistant secretary of State and of Finance, Ricardo Mourinho Félix, thanks to the "competence, loyalty and sense of responsibility in pursuing the public interest with which he served his duties over more than a year of working together".
