Government approves reduction of the Special Payment on Account – Diário de Notícias – Lisbon

The own prime minister was at the briefing after the meeting of the plenary assembly government to explain the content of the measure

The Council of Ministers approved on Thursday a “principle of the progressive reduction of the PEC, and the simplified regime for determining the taxable amount”, said the minister of the Presidency, Maria Manuel Leitão Marques.

A measure, which will enter into force on the 1st of march, built to replace the reduction of the Unique Social tax (TSU) to the companies, reduction yesterday sinker in Parliament by a combination of votes from the PSD, the BE, the PCP and PEV.

The own prime minister, António Costa, was at the briefing with the journalists after the meeting of the plenary assembly government to explain the content of the measure, which assured already be agreed upon both with all the social partners who had signed yesterday partially revoked in the AIR (in the part of the TSU) as well as with parties to the left of the PS (BE+PCP+PEV).

As to the CGTP – unique partner that had not aligned in the reduction of the TSU -, has already been informed of the content of the measure but it is not known if the final position

The minimum value that the entrepreneurs pay for the SGP (an advance payment to the tax office on corporate income tax) will be decreased one hundred euros. There is in addition a discount of 12.5% in the remainder of the collection of each company. António Costa said the measure will benefit 122 thousand companies, having a budgetary impact similar to that which had been anticipated for the reduction of TSU: eur 40 million.

The social dialogue agreement signed by almost all (minus the CGTP) and that enabled the increase of the national minimum wage is now, according to the head of the Government, added an “addendum,” “so that all partners can confirm that if they agree” the extent approved in the Council of Ministers.

António Costa ensured that in addition to have already the support of the parliamentary left, will also seek the support of the CDS (who presented a project with alternative measures). The PSD did not speak.

at The same time, the minister Vieira da Silva (Labour and Social Security) was in charge of negotiating with the IPSS (Private Institutions of Social Solidarity) to another regime, since it does not pay the PEC.
