Ikea asks customers to return the beach chair Mysingsö – Jornal de Negócios – Portugal

Ikea has issued a note where it asks customers who purchased the beach chair Mysingsö “that the return in any IKEA store where they will be reimbursed in full, not being necessary to present the proof of purchase”.

In question is the story of five accidents “in the beach chair Mysingsö have fallen during use, due to incorrect mounting, after the fabric has been taken out for washing. These cases occurred in Finland, Germany, the usa, Denmark and Australia”, explains the company in the press release issued this Tuesday, January 24.

“security is a top priority for Ikea, so that all of our products comply with the international legislation and the national, as well as the safety standards in force in the markets where they are sold. The beach chair Mysingsö was subject to mechanical testing, construction and chemical results approved,” says the same source.

“When you receive these reports, Ikea has initiated a full investigation and decided to improve the design of this product, with a view to decrease the risk of incorrect mounting, and injuries. The chair with the new design will be available in Ikea stores from February 2017,” he explains.
